Valley residents are still stinging after yesterday’s 2-1 extra time loss to Belgium, but remain proud of the accomplishments of the United States team, as echoed by fans at a Phoenix sports bar.

“Great game," one fan said. "Tough finish, but you know we’re excited. American fans probably showed good support, but it was a tough loss.”

But, the excitement of World Cup and the U.S. team’s success has sparked increased interest in soccer around the country.
