Valley Summer Camps Affected By Excessive Heat

The Valley is under an excessive heat warning from 10 this morning until 8 p.m. tomorrow. This can make things difficult for summer camps across the Phoenix area. That’s why Jeff Fox, president of High-Five Sports Clubs, said he ended most of his camps before July. But one of his camps is still in session. Fox had to choose the location of that camp carefully.

“We run the 9 weeks of camps here at the Ice Den," Fox said. "When it gets to be 110 out, there’s pretty much nothing you can do outside, so this is the one we run that’s full summer.”

Today's high is expected to hit 114 degrees, which would be the hottest day of the year so far.
