In response to the election of Donald Trump, progressives are taking a page out of the Tea Party’s playbook to start to organize in opposition to the new president.

It started with the Indivisible Guide, which started popping up on some social-media feeds after the election as a practical way to resist the Trump agenda. And now, it’s beginning to turn into action.

Here in the Valley, the Indivisible Phoenix group met with The Show’s Lauren Gilger on Tuesday as they took part in the group’s first national day of action.

Graduate students Cassandra Barrett and Valerie Harris went to U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake’s office Tuesday, along with about a dozen others, to talk to his staff about their concerns about President Donald Trump’s Cabinet picks.

They said, as scientists and citizens, they’re concerned about Trump’s appointments, like Rick Perry to run the Department of Energy.
