U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., is applauding the nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the United States Supreme Court.

On Tuesday evening, President Donald Trump announced his pick to fill the seat of the late judge Antonin Scalia.  Flake says Gorsuch, a federal appeals court judge from Colorado, is a good fit for the high court.  

“We want somebody who is principled, conservative and who will not legislate from the bench. I’m convinced that Judge Neil Gorsuch is that man, and I will be pleased to shepherd his nomination through the process,” Flake said.

Arizona’s other Republican U.S. Sen. John McCain also praised the choice, saying Gorsuch has both the right experience and a record of upholding the Constitution.
