Gov. Doug Ducey has until 5 p.m. Monday to sign or veto the final 33 bills sent to him from this year’s legislative session. 

A billion dollar University loan package, that Ducey championed, is top of mind for the Governor. 

Considered the most divisive of the 11 budget bills, the money is earmarked for construction and maintenance at Arizona’s three public universities.

Two other bills on his desk extend workers’ compensation coverage for firefighters with work-related illnesses. 

Ducey must also decide whether to sign a series of tax credits for businesses, and whether to limit cities from holding elections for sales tax increases outside of the November general elections. 

Any bills he does not veto or sign go into law by default.
