After private wastewater company EPCOR was ordered to consolidate their five districts across the state, EPCOR customers have final, new rates starting this week.

The Arizona Corporation Commission finalized the new wastewater rates starting August for EPCOR customers in Anthem, Sun City, Sun City West, Agua Fria and Mohave County.

The several-year rate case led to evening out wastewater billing rates across districts.

Rates will drop the most in housing communities north of Sun City West and in Buckeye. Over the next five years, rates will drop from $71.16 a month to $38.59, the new standard rate, by 2021.

Sun City rates will go up the most, from $22.11 to the new rate for the same service.
