Don’t get too comfy with the cooler weather. The National Weather Service has warned triple digits are still on the horizon this week.

Although, NWS meteorologist Mark O’Malley predicted it won’t stretch very far beyond the 100 mark.

“Typically Phoenix does not see its last 100 degree day until the first week of October, so being in the mid 90’s to near 100 is very usual for this time of year,” O'Malley said.

O’Malley said it’s not unheard of for the daytime highs to hit the triple digits as far out as Halloween.

He does not, however, see storms growing over the Valley during this month, except in the mountain areas throughout the state.
