The Sheraton in Downtown Phoenix is still closed after an electrical issue Saturday morning forced all 800 guests to be relocated.

The hotel is expected to remain closed through Wednesday, though the situation is "fluid." That's the word spokesperson Shanna Wolfe is using to describe the reopening of the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel.

Wolfe said the property was shuttered due to damage in the electrical room Saturday morning and it's still unclear exactly what happened.

In the meantime,"we have a team here that is on property that is reaching to incoming guests and guests that we have placed — just to make sure that they’re OK, and giving arriving guests new locations," Wolfe said. "And of course, we have electricians on property that are looking into the issue and working to repair it."

She said many of the affected guests have been moved to hotels connected to the Sheraton including one in Scottsdale and the Wild Horse Pass Resort south of the city. But some are being moved to non-affiliated in downtown and North Phoenix.
