Experts Give Insight On Arizona's Development Of Charter Schools

Arizona has been a leader in the development of charter schools but, as currently constituted, is that a good thing?

The Brookings Institution recently released a paper called “The Uneven Performance of Arizona’s Charter Schools.”

We talked with Matthew Chingos, a senior fellow in government studies at Brookings’ Brown Center on education policy. He was one of the project’s researchers.

We also spoke with Ildi Laczko-Kerr, vice president of academics for the Arizona Charter Schools Association.

And Pearl Chang Esau, president and CEO of Expect More Arizona, talked with us about criteria for ranking schools.
