Record Low Water Levels At Lake Mead Mean Changes To Boat Ramps

Christie Vanover at the Lake Mead Recreation Area said $32 million has been spent on ramp extensions in the last 10 years.
“Because it is a reservoir, we’ve definitely following the water as it rises and as it lowers. So, we’re anticipating, this year, that we’ll spend about $1.5 to $2 million dollars continuing those launch ramp extensions,” Vanover said .
According to the Federal Bureau of Reclamation, the lake’s depth is expected to drop to a record low of just under 1,100 feet by the end of June.
