Diversifying the Valley’s economy has been a talking point for a number of years. Some of that effort has been devoted to drawing in businesses and jobs from other states. California recently received a lot of that focus.

But is the Phoenix area doing a good enough job of retaining businesses that started here and helping them expand?

On Wednesday, the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce officially unveiled the economic development effort "Phoenix Forward."
