Arizona State University will start offering degrees in three disciplines to students studying at Arizona Western College’s Yuma campus. The majors address workforce needs in Yuma and La Paz counties.

Two of the three programs will start this fall. Students will soon be able to earn a bachelor’s degree in criminology and criminal justice or a degree in organizational leadership.

A third degree in secondary education will be offered in the fall of 2016. That major is being offered due to the shortage of teachers at the Yuma Union High School District, according to its associate superintendent.

The university said it expects the board of regents to approve up to a $4,500 cut in tuition for future students.
