Defense attorneys are unhappy about a policy enacted by the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office that placed cameras in the jailhouse rooms used by attorneys to speak in private with their clients.

County officials say the cameras aren’t recording audio, identifying details are pixelated and the cameras are necessary to stop the passing of contraband in the jail.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Arizona sees these cameras as a violation of attorney/client privilege.

Jared Keenan, a staff attorney with the organization, talked to The Show about his concerns with these cameras.
