When Arizona representatives returned to the state Capitol to complete their legislative work, a bill to protect businesses from coronavirus-related litigation was a top priority among Republicans.

A bill by Fountain Hills Rep. John Kavanagh would raise the bar on lawsuits claiming someone contracted COVID-19 at a specific business.

Howard Fischer of Capitol Media Services tried at a press conference on Wednesday to get the Gov. Doug Ducey's thoughts on the bill and got this response in return: “I do not comment on legislation as it’s moving. I respect the Legislature as a co-equal branch.”

To talk more about the bill and its chances from here on, The Show spoke with Arizona Capitol Times reporter Julia Shumway.
