Navajo Nation President To Speak At Democratic National Convention
Joining the ranks of 17 elected Democrats speaking at the convention is Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez, who was elected last year after serving on the Navajo Nation Council and in the Navajo County Board of Supervisors.
Nez and the 16 other speakers will deliver a joint keynote, instead of a traditional address with one speaker. Convention CEO Joe Solmonese says they wanted to engage more diverse Americans than they had in the past.
"The convention keynote has always been the bellwether for the future of our party and our nation, and when Americans tune in next week they’ll find the smart, steady leadership we need to meet this critical moment,” Solmonese said in a statement.
The convention starts Monday night at 6 p.m. Arizona time, with an online livestream available to the general public.
