The Arizona Court of Appeals has reopened the door to so-called dark money contributions to political races.

The court ruled unanimously in favor of a 2017 law from the Republican-controlled Legislature that said nonprofits do not have to disclose their donors, even if the money is used to finance independent expenditures to elect or defeat candidates.

The debate over dark money may be familiar to one group of candidates who debated Sept. 30 — candidates vying for seats on the Arizona Corporation Commission.

The Show spoke with Howie Fischer of Capitol Media Services for more on what the court’s ruling means to Arizonans.
