Arizona Voters Have Until 5 p.m. Tuesday To Cure Ballots
For Arizonans who voted using early ballots, your signature is your ID.
Before early ballots are counted, election officials verify that the signature on return envelopes match signatures the state has on file.
If election officials aren’t certain your signature is a match, there’s still a chance to prove your identity and have your vote counted — a process known as curing ballots.
Erika Flores, a spokeswoman for the Maricopa County recorder’s office, said officials will call voters with an opportunity to cure their ballots.
"It's a special phone line that we'll be using and leaving," she said. "We’ll be giving them that phone number that they can call back on so they can cure their signature that way."
As of Monday morning, roughly 3,700 in Maricopa County must still be verified before those votes are counted. Voters have until 5 p.m. Tuesday to cure their ballot.
