Martha McSally Delivers Emotional Speech In Farewell As Arizona Senator
Martha McSally gave her farewell address Wednesday in her last appearance on the Senate floor as an Arizona senator.
McSally held back tears in an emotional farewell to her fellow senators, her staff and the people of Arizona.
“It’s been a true honor, Arizona. We are an extraordinary state with extraordinary people. I know our future is blessed and bright just like our state motto 'God enriches.' I have been enriched by the privilege to fight for you and serve you for the past six years, two here in the Senate," McSally said.
Gov. Doug Ducey appointed McSally to her seat after the late Sen. John McCain died. She ran and lost in an election to Democrat Mark Kelly, who she wished well. McSally was met with applause from her peers after her speech.
