Two Arizona political leaders are analyzing the results of the 2020 general election.

They both agree Latino communities are going to be key for political victories in the future. Republican Congressman Paul Gosar believes the Republican party has always worked collaboratively with the Latino community.

“We’ve always reached out to Hispanics. And we win them hands down because we engage with them. They’re a natural for Republicans because of the family, because of the independent nature, the hardworking aspects that they are," Gosar said.

Arizona Democratic Congressman Raul Grijalva acknowledged the Democratic Party did not do as well as it should have down ticket but agrees the Latino community will play a large role in future elections.

“It’s a growing population. It’s a growing demography from a young community. Yeah, that’s the trend for the future there’s no question about it," Grijalva said.

According to exit polls, Latinos were indeed critical for Democrats. Sixty-three percent of them voted for President-Elect Joe Biden while 36% cast their votes for President Donald Trump.
