A new campaign aims to prevent kids from being pulled in by hate groups online.

And Brette Steele says the effort is only getting more important.

The SCREEN Hate campaign from the McCain Institute at Arizona State University provides tips for parents to talk to their kids about the hate speech they see online, so they don’t become radicalized by it.

In a recent op-ed, Steele says hate groups are exploiting the increased screen time many kids are having, and that most teens and young adults who come across hate online do so by chance, rather than because they were seeking it out.

Steele is the senior director of Preventing Targeted Violence at the McCain Institute.

The Show spoke with her and asked how prevalent it is that a kid will be online, come across some kind of hate content and be dragged down that rabbit hole.
