How law enforcement keeps up with dark net transactions
A federal judge earlier this year sentenced three Arizonans to prison for selling illegal drugs, including fentanyl, methamphetamine and heroin, on dark net pages. Officials with Homeland Security Investigations Arizona say between January and August of last year, the three made more than 1,300 drug sales on the dark net.
But it’s not just drugs that are available there. Law enforcement agencies have prosecuted human trafficking and illegal gun sales, among other crimes on the darknet.
The Show talked more about this with Scott Brown, special agent in charge for Homeland Security Investigations for Arizona, and the conversation started with the difference between the dark net and the regular internet.
