Arizona gas prices are dipping with the temperatures

After a brutally hot summer, temperatures are finally falling in Arizona — and so are gas prices.

Julian Paredes, with AAA Arizona, says the correlation is not a coincidence. Summer travel tends to drive up prices, and this year, so did the heat.

"A lot of the reason why gas was so expensive for the last few months was refinery troubles, because of the heat. But obviously with the cooler weather, that’s resolved itself."

The average price in Arizona has plunged 18 cents over the past week, to $4.41 per gallon. But that’s still well above the national average of $3.65.
