High temperatures in Phoenix continued to break records even going into the fall season.

On Friday, the National Weather Service based in Phoenix said that the mean average temperature for the meteorological fall period between September and November stood at 80.8 degrees.

This breaks the previous record of 80.1 degrees set in 2020.

National Weather Service meteorologist Matt Salerno says warm fall seasons depend on certain factors.

“It really depends on the conditions that we see leading up to the fall, which for example this summer, we didn't see much rainfall at all during the monsoon season," he said.

According to Salerno, that kept temperatures a lot warmer due to the lack of moisture.
