A bill that would have allowed families of residents in long-term care to place cameras in their rooms has died in the Arizona Legislature. Dana Marie Kennedy, state director of AARP Arizona, says they’re negotiating a way to revive the measure with state Rep. Tim Dunn.

"So what we're working on right now is seeing if we can't put some amendments onto Dunn’s bill, we don't know if that will happen or not. But that is a strategy that we are pursuing," Kennedy said.

Dunn’s bill would define memory care in state law and increase nursing home fines. That bill is expected to be heard by members of the Arizona Senate on Tuesday, March 19.
