Search begins for new Highland Justice Precinct constable after resignation

The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors is looking for someone to be the new Highland Justice Precinct constable.

Luke Palmer resigned from his position effective Feb. 27, 2024.

That was after Arizona’s Family reported that he had stopped coming in to do his job at all. Deputy Constable Kevin Jones told Arizona's Family he’d been picking up the slack for three months.

Palmer confirmed to the outlet that he has been working at an air conditioning company in Gilbert and not fulfilling his constable duties.

Now, the board is looking for someone to fill his role for the remainder of the term. His seat is up for re-election in November.

By law, the appointee must be a Republican, like Palmer, and live in the Highland Justice Precinct. Applications will be accepted until March 29 at 5 p.m.

Anyone interested in the position can send their letters of interest along with a resume to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors by email at [email protected] or by direct mail to Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, 301 W. Jefferson, Phoenix, AZ 85003 (10th floor).
