A longtime Phoenix police officer is accused of possessing child pornography.

Federal authorities allege that Alaa Robert Bartley received illegal images via social media from a Michigan woman facing separate charges.

The Phoenix Police Department called Bartley’s alleged behavior despicable.

Bartley is on paid leave, and officials said a process to fire him is underway.
