The Gilbert subcommittee on teen violence has delivered recommendations and the Town Council may act on them Tuesday night.

The meeting comes days after police called for public help to identify suspects who allegedly threw a fire extinguisher off of a parking garage nearly 14 months ago.

Gilbert police say the falling fire extinguisher struck a man and left him with non-life-threatening injuries. He was in an area near the town Heritage District where other assaults have been reported.

Public outcry against attacks by teens led the Gilbert Town Council to form a subcommittee.

Now the body has submitted about 10 pages of notes and ideas, such as increasing the number of police officers assigned to schools.

The subcommittee wants the council to send the recommendations to a social welfare task force so it can create a teen-violence-work plan for the town.
