Gov. Katie Hobbs vetoed 10 bills on Tuesday, bringing her total to 52 for this legislative session.

One of those bills would have created new definitions for residency. Hobbs said the measure would have created more burdens for registering to vote.

Other vetoed bills include one that would have required schools to have separate showers for transgender students, and another would have created new procedures to remove squatters from residences. 

Hobbs said the way that bill was written could have impacted victims of domestic violence and went against tenant due process rights.

In this latest round, the governor signed more bills than she vetoed, including one that speeds up the process to fill legislative vacancies.
