The Douglas Port of Entry is getting a new name Wednesday, in honor of the late Arizona Gov. Raul Castro.

Castro’s daughter and grandson will join other family members and dignitaries at a dedication ceremony for the “Raul Hector Castro Port of Entry.” The U.S. General Services Administration and U.S. Customs and Border Protection are hosting the event.

Castro was born in Sonora, Mexico, and grew up on both sides of the border.

When elected in 1974, he became Arizona’s 14th governor and the first, and still only, Latino to hold the position. He died in April at the age of 98.
