The Arizona Department of Transportation is warning travelers this long New Year's Eve weekend to expect heavy traffic on US-180 into Flagstaff.

ADOT recommends bringing supplies to prepare for delays in the cold, like warm blankets and plenty of gas.

To avoid congestion, officials suggest allowing for extra travel time or to find an alternative route via the Butler Avenue I-40 exit.
