Arizona Sunshine is a virtual reality game by Vertigo Games.

Arizona is known for its sunshine, but the virtual reality video game “Arizona Sunshine” is a less, well, sunny, look at the state.

Players step into a “zombie apocalypse,” and battle for survival across “a blistering hot, post-apocalyptic Arizona.” Michael Evans gave a sense of how real virtual reality games can be for the places in which they’re set. Evans, who studies video games, is an associate professor in the College of Education at North Carolina State University.

He explained how better graphics and overall technology changes what players know about the places these games are set.
