There’s a dusty stretch of rural houses in central Scottsdale about a mile from Scottsdale Fashion Square that may not seem to fit with the general perception of the city. For nearly seven decades it’s been the creative space for some of Arizona’s most influential artists. The place is known as Cattle Track.

We learned more about Cattle Track from artist Mark McDowell, Western art expert Jerry Smith and Polly Larsen of the Larsen Gallery in Scottsdale. The Larsen Gallery is hosting an exhibition called “Cattle Track Legends.”
