Recent presidential election years have illustrated the increasing polarization among American voters. Those on both the conservative and progressive ends of the spectrum have become even more entrenched.

That’s occurred at the same time the number of registered independents continues to grow at the expense of the Democratic and Republican parties.

KJZZ's Here and Now talked with Thom Reilly and Joe Garcia of the Morrison Institute about what they’re learning about independents and how millennial voters use social media.
