We’ve all seen movies that include “capers” that involve a group getting together to steal a valuable jewel or painting or some other work of art. For example, "The Thomas Crown Affair"—the 1990s version with Pierce Brosnan—features the title character stealing a famous painting and the efforts to stop or catch him.
