New numbers from the Learning Policy Institute looking at how attractive states are for teachers have some tough news for Arizona.  It is among the least attractive states in the country, and is struggling in criteria including salary, the percentages of inexperienced and uncertified teachers and turnover.

With KJZZ's The Show to talk about these results is Erin Hart, chief operating officer of the education group Expect More Arizona, and a member of the Educator Retention and Recruitment Task Force in the state education department.

The survey shows more than 2,000 open teaching positions around the state, and districts are having to get creative to try to fill those spots.

Mark Joraanstad, executive director of the Arizona School Administrators and a former superintendent and teacher, talks about what districts are doing to attract teachers.
