More unmarried women are having children according to a United States census report. In Arizona, more than 30 percent of women who had a baby in 2012 were in poverty.

That year the U.S. poverty rate was 15 percent, but nearly 50 percent of young women who gave birth were in poverty. The study also reported teen births nationwide are continuing to decline.
