Phoenix Demands Donald Trump Campaign Stop Using Photos Of Officers

The city of Phoenix has sent a cease-and-desist letter to GOP Presidential candidate Donald Trump’s campaign saying they violated federal and state law by using copyrighted materials in a campaign ad.

In the two page letter, City Attorney Brad Holm is demanding that the campaign take down the ad, which shows Trump surrounded by Phoenix police officers.

Holm argues the video wrongly suggests that Phoenix and the officers support or endorse Trump’s campaign. He also writes that the city did not consent to the campaign’s use of Phoenix’s legally protected intellectual property — specifically the badge and insignia patches, which can be seen in the video.

Holm said he has been authorized to pursue all legal remedies to protect Phoenix’s intellectual property.

The state's campaign chairman, Phil Lovas, said he cannot comment on the letter because he has not seen it.
