Frida Kahlo’s huge impact on art, particularly in the Southwest, continues to this day.

Earlier in October, the Tucson Botanical Gardens became only the second locale in the nation to host the exhibition Frida Kahlo: Art, Garden, Life. The show will be open through May 31, 2017.

We got more details about Kahlo’s connection to nature and the exhibition from Michelle Conklin, executive director of the Tucson Botanical Gardens.

"There is not a painting that she completed without a plant or an animal or something in that painting to reflect nature," Conklin said.
