With less than two weeks left before Election Day, many Arizonans have already cast their vote. The Secretary of State’s Office reports 765,535 early ballots have been returned so far out of the 2.3 million that were requested by voters; 38.7 percent of ballots returned were from registered Republicans compared with 36.4 percent from Democrats.

Secretary of State’s Office spokesman Matt Roberts says those numbers are representative of overall voter registrations in Arizona and similar to previous election breakdowns by party. “So statistically the turnout is fairly even and it appears that there’s widespread partisan interest on both sides of the aisle," Roberts said. "And that’s great for our electorate.”

Roberts says if voters have not received their early ballot yet they should contact their county recorder. Voters can track the progress of their early ballot at the website www.arizona.vote to see when their ballot is returned and processed. Counties will begin advanced early-vote counting on Nov. 2, and the results will be released at the close of the polls on Nov. 8.
