The Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family is touting the results of a drug-prevention pilot program called Healthy Families Healthy Youth.

It’s geared toward seventh-graders, and the agency worked with one middle school in each county on it.

The program consists of a two-and-a-half hour back-to-school night, for students, parents, teachers and others — in an effort to get everyone on the same prevention page.

With me to talk about this is Debbie Moak, director of the Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family. Moak answers how this curriculum, which her office helped write, is different from other drug-prevention programs in schools like DARE.
