Sandhill cranes spend the winter near Willcox, Arizona.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department estimates there are more than 25,000 sandhill cranes in the Sulphur Springs Valley in southeastern Arizona. And thanks to the Arizona Game and Fish’s webcam, the public can watch the cranes.

Sandhill cranes congregate at the Whitewater Draw Wildlife Area. Every winter, the birds make Arizona their home.

It’s a spectacular show.

According to a statement from game and fish, the cranes usually fly out as a group at dawn to feed. Their migration begins in late October and lasts until March or early April.

The livestream is part of the department’s watchable wildlife program that brings nature to the public.
