Arizona Flu Activity Lower But DHS Says It's Never Too Late To Get Flu Shot

Flu activity in Arizona is lower now than it was the past two years at this time. Dr. Cara Christ with the Arizona Department of Health Services says even though the flu is more common January through March, it circulates year-round. She says it’s never too late to get a flu shot.

"Washing your hands frequently and avoiding touching your face and your mouth is another good thing because that’s the way that it’s spread. And then you’re going to want to make sure that if you do get sick, you avoid spreading it to others by staying home," Christ says.

Christ says that DHS will continue to monitor flu activity in Arizona and that the vaccine is a good match for the strains that are currently circulating.
