Scottsdale based Taser International, maker of police body cameras and stun guns, lost a multi-million-dollar body camera contract with the New York City Police Department last year to Seattle based Vievu.

But, Taser has not given up.

New York City’s comptroller refused to approve the Vievu deal, citing an ongoing investigation into details of its winning bid, according to The New York Times.

Mayor Bill de Blasio defended the decision to choose the Seattle company, and last week, reiterated his intention to move the deal forward.

Vievu’s winning bid of $6.4 million far undercut Taser’s $17 million estimate.
