Bill Amendment To Require Warrants When Removing Kids From Homes

A late amendment to a bill is circulating in the Arizona Legislature that will force Department of Child Safety workers to obtain warrants before removing children from their homes.

Utah, New York and Illinois all use this method now, but the number of children that Arizona DCS sees means much more evidence will need to be presented before the agency can act.

We spoke with DCS Director Greg McKay several weeks ago about why using warrants could make sense.
