The St. Mary’s Food Bank of Phoenix is sending help to the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

On Tuesday morning, a truck load of snacks, canned goods and toiletries was dispatched to the Houston area to help displaced residents and first responders.

Jerry Brown is director of public relations with the food bank.

“The people of Phoenix always want to help out, whether it’s folks here in Arizona, or anywhere else in the country or even in the world," Brown said. "When we see world disasters, the philanthropy and the willingness to help of Arizona never ceases to amaze me.”

The truck is expected to arrive in Texas Wednesday afternoon.
