As holiday shoppers find it convenient to shop online, holiday thieves find it convenient to steal packages straight from the doorsteps.

So, Sergeant Daniel Meija with Chandler Police says they're setting up bait boxes to catch thieves in action.

"They're going to look just like any other package that's sitting on the front door," he warned.

And, if someone tries to pick one up and walk away, "We have the technology to track it and obviously we get notified when that happens."

He said police appreciate the work-at-home community keeping an eye out, too, and calling the neighbors when they see a delivery or calling police when they see someone suspicious walking away with a package.
