The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has released a recovery plan for the Mexican gray wolf. It sets guidelines for de-listing the wolf from the Endangered Species Act, and where the recovery should happen.

The issue has been a controversial one over the years, and we hear from two people who’ve been involved in it — Michael Robinson, a conservation advocate with the Center for Biological Diversity, and Patrick Bray, executive vice president of the Arizona Cattlemen’s Association.

We also reached out to the Arizona Game and Fish Department on this. In an e-mail, a spokesman says the agency is still reviewing the plan, and can’t comment on it until it’s had a chance to thoroughly review it.
