Can School Architecture Protect Children?

The recent tragic shootings at U.S. schools has renewed discussions about how to keep students safe — including adding security or even arming teachers.

But what about changing how the schools are designed? Should there be safe rooms or locations that lend themselves to easier escape routes?

To learn more about the possibilities, The Show was joined by Phil Horton, head of architecture at ASU’s Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts.
