There are more Americans working in the gig economy now than five years ago.

But even with those gains, just 1.6 percent of workers nationally have taken part. And of those that do gig work, like driving and delivery or renting out their homes, most do so for just a few months a year.

Those are among the findings of a new study from the JPMorgan Chase Institute, which also shows about 1.5 percent of Arizonans took part in the gig economy, which is among the highest rates in the country.

To talk about the results and other numbers, Eileen Appelbaum, co-director at the Center for Economic and Policy Research in Washington, D.C., joined The Show.
