The American Cancer Society is estimating that more than 1.6 million cases of cancer will be diagnosed in the United States in 2015.

In recent years, an integrative approach to treating the disease has gained momentum.

Dr. Santosh Rao is Medical Director of Integrative Medicine for the Cox Center for Cancer Prevention and Integrative Oncology at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center in Gilbert.

He said complementary approaches like acupuncture and massage are part of a trend in cancer treatment.
